Billy, as stated in other threads EWNI is different from kashmir.

The Bomber Fighter is our top of the range bat and is made from grade 1 english willow from England.

Hi ozcricket,
I purchased a bomber bat from you a few months ago and require advice regarding knocking in and oiling. I'm sure a few others do too. What are your tips?

Knocking in bats,
There are many sites on knocking bats in , some going into great depth, if you google bat knocking.
However there a few basic rules that we follow.
1 add a teaspoon of raw linseed oil to the face and edges of the bat, avoiding stickers.
Using a wooden mallet gently begin knocking the face of the bat, more care should be taken towards the edge of the bat, but not avoided. This process can take up to 2 hours and as you go gently increase the force down on the bat.
Once this has been completed, you can look to get into the nets and have some bowlers bowl with older good quality balls. This process again should be done over a 2 hour period ( note doesnt have to be all in the same session).
throughout the knocking process, stop and check the face of the bat, if you find minor cracks, get back onto it with the mallet and knock further.
Thats the basics, but use common sense and you cannot go wrong, remember the more time you take preparing the bat, the better it will perform and last.

the best advice is to get the ozcricket team to knock the bat in for you it costs about $20 and you will get the best service, you can then use your bat straight away, dont forget these guys know cricket bats inside out

I'm not convinced my bat is working as well as it should. When i bought it I knocked it in for about 3-4 hours. Should I be knocking the bat in very hard with my mallet or lots of short taps? Also is the Bomber Fighter 1st grade English?? I'll atach a photo later of what it looks like after 10 net sessions and a few matches.

haha bats not working properly!!
I think there are 2 different fighters, one is grade 1 english willow and the other a low garde english willow, how much did you pay? that will determine what you have.

That would be a lower grade willow then. Why not spend the money and get a grade 1 english willow bat, then you can expect a good performing bat.
