Even if they use the same model/brand they promote, they will get it custom made to suit their style of play. The chances of you picking up a bat straight off the shelf with the same specs as your international heroes are very slim indeed.

90% of the pros bats are made in INDIA by craftsmen there, for their specific requirements but there are batmakers around who work on their bats (not make them) just fine tuning.

I think maybe 90% may be conservative Mr Hembrow. India produce the best quality cricket equipment bar none. And for all those guys who think there big name brand bats are made here or in UK think again.

Lots of the Indian players use SS bats, look for the TON on the side of their bats. Some also use SG or BDM, both have markings on the side of their bats.
Englands players use mixtures of brands, some made in England some elsewhere. Same goes for Australians, bear in mind Kookaburras are produced by SG so the bat you see Ponting using is quite often one of those.

yep thats right but there is no way they can produce the amount of bats they need by hand just takes to long , so what they do is make (say) 5 and send them to india and get them reprduced coz they have thousands of bat makers

I think you all miss the point with players bats. English willow is the same were ever you get your bats from. Whether its UK, Aus, Ind or Pak. Players dont care where their bats come from as long as bat picks up well and has a great middle and then put their contracted labels on them. There's not too many ways of making a cricket bat. You grab a cleft of willow give it its desirable press, splice it and fit the handle. Than hand craft it to suit the players needs. The advantage that players have is that the bat makers that make their bats may have tested a few to find that ultimate bat for that player. The best you can do as the amatuer cricketer is go to a specialist outlet who stocks multiple bats and if permitted use a mallet to tap the bat to test rebound. Remember players can pick up bats when ever they need and could have 5-10 bats in their kit. The supplier will always brag if that player is making runs. The best bat is the one you are making runs with.....
